CCI South Saskatchewan, we need your help.

Last week, City Council voted to approve the 2018 budget - a budget that does not provide relief to condominium homeowners who must hire private garbage pickup. As part of the budget deliberations, Council voted 6-5 against a motion to reinstate the condominium garbage rebate.

Mayor Fougere, and councillors Bryce, Hawkins, O'Donnell, Young, and Murray all voted against reinstating the garbage rebate that was pulled from us during the cuts to the 2017 budget.

We need to let City Council know that condominium homeowners will not stand by while we pay taxes for services that we do not receive. Your government relations committee has been busy getting the message out, and was featured by Global News last Friday in a favourable story about the rebate. Now it's your turn.

The only way that the City of Regina is going to change its course is if it hears from its residents that the status quo is unacceptable. We need you to write your councillors to express how important this issue is to you. To help you out, we've prepared two form letters that you can use as starting points to contact your councillor.

Get your neighbours, your friends, and your fellow condominium owners to contact their city councillors. The more people who contact council, the better. You can message your councillor directly using the City of Regina Website. Or, if you prefer to call, their phone numbers are listed below:

Those who voted to reinstate the Garbage Rebate were: Councillors Bresciani, Findura, Flegel, Stevens
and Mancinelli.
