Hotel and Travel Information
The upcoming National Leaders' Forum and One Day conference in Halifax (May 29 - June 1, 2024) overlaps with two other major events in Halifax - the Sail Grand Prix (June 1-2, 2024) and a hockey tournament. Because of these events, you are encouraged to book your hotel stay sooner rather than later. CCI preferred hotel rates have been secured but cannot be guaranteed for the full NLF and Conference period.
Key dates to keep in mind when booking:
- Wednesday, May 29, 2024 – Executive and National Council meetings in the afternoon followed by the ‘Meet and Greet’ Social in the late afternoon for all.
- Thursday, May 30, 2024 – Friday, May 31, 2024 (full day NLF program)
- Saturday, June 1, 2024 (all day conference) [Remember to check out by 11am to not be charged an additional night.]

- Reserved rooms are available from 3 p.m. on the arrival day and must be vacated by 11am on departure day.
- Luggage storage may be arranged on both arrival and departure days.

A special room rate of $199 plus applicable taxes per night is available for those attending the CCI National Leaders’ Forum.
The group rate will be available to book until April 14th, 2024.
Individual rooms must be guaranteed by a valid credit card for late arrival at the time of making the reservation(s).
Reservations must be cancelled 48 hours before arrival to avoid a penalty of one-night Room and Tax.

Halifax has an international airport, Halifax Stanfield (YHZ). For up-to-date flight information, check out the individual airlines.
- Air Canada offers direct flights from Ottawa, St John’s, Toronto, Ottawa, and Vancouver.
- Porter offers direct flights from Ottawa, St John’s, Toronto.
- WestJet offers direct flights from, Calgary, Edmonton, and Toronto.
Getting around Halifax:
Getting around Halifax is easy — a cab can get you anywhere in 15 minutes! Here are the main ways travellers and locals get around:
Taxis: Halifax airport is 35 kilometers (about 21.75 miles) from the city’s downtown core and depending on the time of day, it may take 30 – 50 minutes to reach downtown. The average cost is $70-80 one-way (airport to downtown Halifax).
Halifax Transit – Regional Express 320 Airport/Fall River. This express bus runs every 30 minutes from the airport to downtown Halifax. It takes about 55 minutes (Scotia Square being the closest stop).

Driving to Halifax:
