Message from the President - Spring 2009

Despite an obvious slow down in condominium development and construction over the winter, it is evident from the number of cranes popping up around the Lower Mainland that the condominium construction industry is still on the go and so is the Vancouver chapter of the Canadian Condominium Institute.  We are hosting two seminars in a little over a month’s time; the first one on June 6th at the Ramada in Abbotsford and the second on June 9th at the Holiday Inn Express in Burnaby.  More information about these two seminars will be posted on the website. A panel of experts from the legal, engineering and property management fields will be on hand to talk about “Leaky condos – Before, during and after repair”!  Owners, strata council members and property managers alike routinely have questions about building repairs.  The panel of experts will be on hand to educate you, answer your questions and help you make sense of condominium building repairs regardless of what stage your building is at.
 
Our chapter is also moving toward revamping our website so stay tuned for that as we move toward a website that will allow members to use passwords to access member only areas of the website and to order educational materials or register for seminars and presentations online!
