PRESIDENTS MESSAGE
Greetings from the snowy north. Yes winter has arrived here in Thunder Bay and the shovels are out, but not for the condo owners! The snowbirds are on their way south and returning back when the snow is gone, to their nice clean, secured condominium unit. Nice life!
I've just recently, and perhaps reluctantly, moved out of my condo after many years of pleasant carefree living. I will truly miss the balcony views, amenities, and probably most at this time of year, the underground parking garage! So now it's back to shoveling snow, cutting the grass, never ending maintenance and all that goes along with the ownership of a home.
The ironic part of my story is that the condo market in Thunder Bay is hot! Prices are going crazy in some properties and really not that much inventory overall. So while I think we did well with our sale, chances are that I will have to pay double to get back in the same like unit when I move back into a condo, in my senior years, if the shoveling and grass cutting doesn't kill me first!
Well enough ranting! It's been a great year for the Northwest Chapter with plenty going on. New memberships, advertisers, great informative seminars, events and positive feedback from our membership, owners and the general public. We look forward to our next seminar and AGM to wrap up 2010.
So from all of us at the Northwest Chapter, have a very Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year!
